the musings and views of a life that is ambiguous and hazy but worth living :)
Learning to walk set you free. Learning to dance gives you the greatest freedom of all: to express with your whole self the person you are.

Line Camp - Day 1

Line Camp has started today. It is awesome. I absolutely love it. The staff from Elite Dance Company is so nice and prepared. In La Joya, we have always had guest choreographers come in and they have always been very inconsistent. You just never knew what you were going to get. They were not affiliated with any company so I think that sometimes made them lazy. My dancers have also surprised me. Some are lost, but others are starting to shine. One has great leaps, one catches on really fast, another is a great jumper, and one even has good toe points. I think they are exactly between intermediate and beginners, and have tons of potential. I really like that the staff is challenging them.

I don't know why but lately I have been feeling really insecure and emotional. I got all choked up on that stupid hallmark commercial (u know.. the one with the little girl that had butterflies flying around her because she was going back to school). I also think it had a lot to do with the music that was in the background. It was John Mayer. Need I say more. At the beginning of summer that was kinda the whole point of becoming healthy. You know outside and in. I heard that people with lots to lose care more about their actions in life then people with nothing to lose. It kinda pertained to jobs in general but I have been relating it to life lately. I think that is what I am kinda feeling. Scared of losing what is already shaky to begin with and not getting the reassurance that I desperately need. I need to be a stronger person and not care so much but that is nearly impossible for me to do. I was watching a documentary on H.B.O. (something i never do) but there was a lot of useful information and it sort of helped me realize some things.

More thoughts later today :)

Picture Day

Today was the group photo and the individual photos for the Silver Stars. They looked so good. Everyone seems to get along. We did miss 5 people and I'm kinda upset about that but, oh well what can you do? I'm getting a haircut tomorrow. I really don't want to but I'm just not able to tell my hairdresser that I don't want to. I just started liking my hair again and now I have to cut it. I'm considering just changing it up entirely but don't know if I feel that brave.

I broke my key at school today. The secretary was really rude and said there were no more and that they will not make anymore. So ::sigh:: this year is already starting to look gloomy.

I had a really good workout today. 45 min. run and a small circuit of arms, squats, abs, and core. I built up a really good sweat and felt really good afterwards. I had been running with the silver stars outside and I really think that helped build my endurance. I always had trouble running 20 Min's on the treadmill. Now it's great. I hope I keep it up. Today I weighed myself and I have officially lost 10 lbs during the summer. I hope to lose at least 10 more.. then I would be really happy. It will be really hard now that school has started but I think if I keep eating healthy then I should lose at least 5 more. I have started eating right so it should come along slowly but I am a patient girl. Especially if it is worth it. I also talked to Lana after the gym. It was nice. She advised me on some stuff I had questions and emotions on today after hearing some very hurtful news.

Well, Jackson has been very loving lately. I think she misses me. I miss her when I'm at school.

Things I never knew

This is taken from a friends blog, who I hope he doesn't mind me being a "thief" and putting it in my blog. I just want to never forget it.

A catch that gives up
It saddens me to know there are people out in this world that would be just a perfect person to spend ya life with and yet these people have decided to live a life alone. Yea its their decision but man that still kinda sux. I wonder sometimes about these people and exactly why it is they have decided that. They don't want a boyfriend or girlfriend. They don't want a husband or wife. They just want to be single. I know of one such person. I've known her for years. I've sent a few messages to her but she never responds. Hehe I don't think she very much cares to really want to. She has never really written much about her love life in her bloggin but it sounds like she gone through a lot of heartache. Which is rather unfortunate. My guess now though is that it has been just too much for her. I wonder also if maybe the demand of working played a bit of a role in that as well. Sounds like she spends all day at work and then gets home at night. Doesn't seem like she has much time for that kinda stuff to begin with. But still. Here is a girl that is simply beautiful. And just the greatest big smile. Always liked her smile cause she's not afraid to smile. I dun like smiling very much. And she lives a sort of healthy life. Works out. Stays in shape. Has a great figure. Just wow. Has a place of her own. Has a degree. Just a perfect catch. Yet she has decided to be single for the rest of her life. I always did have a sort of secret crush on her. Back then though she was taken. And then college came around. I had put pieces together to learn that she was single. But I never saw her at school. We didn't have any classes together and I was in athletics or anything so I was never in those areas. Always wish I had the chance to at least go on a date with her just once. Whether it worked out or not. Or something sparked or not. Just to go out with her just once. One movie. One meal. One thing though is that she always seemed to much high class. I was just like so far away from her league. I was lucky to have her for a class and to have her actual say hi to me and not ignore when walking passed each other down the halls or while she was with her friends. I had no money. To vehicle. No job. Hence the no money. All I had were pictures of her that I would take in class. I'm sure it drove her nuts. Probably liked me even less cause of them. But she would always just smile. I did however give her all the pictures towards the last of our days in school. Mainly cause they weren't my memories. They were hers. I don't know if she ever kept those pictures. Probably never did. Maybe even tossed them away. Or they got lost or something. Wish I knew at least how long those pictures stayed in her possession and if she ever looked at them. Such a great girl. I may not qualify much to ever be with her. Live paycheck to paycheck. Have to give plasma just to have money in between checks. Live with two roommates and combined we still can't afford the bills. Horrible debt. So not much really going for me in terms of a future. But would be nice to date her just once in my life. Just that chance to talk to her alone. Just that chance to maybe even see that smile again. I hope she doesn't stay single for the rest of her life. Such a perfect girl going to waste. Maybe someday she will find that somebody and it will be least expected. Ya know sometimes you find what you're looking for when you stop looking for it.

So as I was looking back at previous posts, I realized that I never posted a picture of my new kitty. Well she's not a kitty anymore. She is cute and fluffy. I love her so very much and she has really bonded with me. I did the whole thing that your supposed to do by adopting a new cat like introducing her world slowly by opening up new doors so she can explore with out being overwhelmed. This really helped a lot. Now whenever a new drawer is opened she loves to explore. Although I find it strange that she never wants to go outside. At least not in the back yard. Whenever I open the back door she always runs under the bed. Jasper loved running around the backyard. I still miss him very much and always will.

Justice Served

Camp Day 2: The girls learned their hip hop routine today. It was pretty good. I made changes in the afternoon. I figured the sooner I made changes the easier it would be for the girls to remember them.

I left work a little late because I had numerous emails I had to take care of. So when the girls left at 4:00, I ended up leaving at 4:30. On my way home traffic was a little bit more packed than the day before. I am assuming it was the time difference. I noticed my exit coming up and started making my move into the appropriate lane. It was then that I saw in my rear view mirror several cars weaving in and out of lanes and coming up fast behind me. I am already a nervous driver as it is, so I decided to stay in the lane I was in, miss my exit, and just take the turn around when I could. The expressway is divided into 3 lanes. One of the speeding cars decided to make it a four lane expressway and started passing everyone by driving on the right shoulder. This always makes me mad. What is the big hurry when people drive this way. First of all it is so dangerous. Second, little rocks always end up hitting my car and I have had 3 windshields in the last two years. People always say, "Why can't the police be around when this happens?" ........ Well they were. Not more than a few yards away a police vehicle was parked in the right shoulder. The car tried to get in the far left lane but the police quickly caught up with him and I made my way to the exit. As I was making my way to the turnabout, I saw the silly MALE driver being ticketed by the police. Finally JUSTICE SERVED.

August Rush

The School year has started. Well, at least for me anyway. Summer Camp for the girls is here and this is their first day. I started out with a little set back: My major* for this year has quit and all the officers have gone up a rank. I feel bad for them because they are nervous and still very young. I believe in them and I trust that this year will be good. As usual I have a lot of ideas and energy, so I'm going to try my best and help them as much as I can.
*(for those of you that don't know a major is the top ranked person on the team)

During the summer I got as much rest as I could. I slept a lot and had mini vacations. I went to S.P.I and San Antonio. I had a pretty good summer. I worked out for like the first three weeks and then I ran out of personal trainer sessions. Although I haven't been back at the gym since then, I did run with the girls this morning and plan to run with them everyday. It feels different to run outside rather than on a treadmill. It feels like I get tired very easily but I also feel like I get more out of it.

I think the thing I'll miss the most about going back to school is my kitties. I miss them already. They really kept me company during the day. Jackson never left my side no matter what I was doing: Taking a shower, reading a book, painting, even sleeping. She had all her favorite places while I was doing these things and loved being in eyesight of me. I will miss her very much. I did a lot of house cleaning over the summer as well. I liked having everything organized. Of course it could be that I was bored. I also did some yard work. My house is starting to look like a home. I hardly ever went out to eat, and especially gave up fast food and soft drinks. I learned how to cook (didn't turn out that great) but I am still learning and I know I'll get better. I eat a lot more fruit and feel like this summer was meant to get healthy, inside and out.

I have come to terms with the fact that I am staying alone for the rest of my life. I have loved and been loved and that is enough for me. The only thing that is missing later on will be children but that has never stopped single people. I know my family wants a grandchild to spoil but they will have to wait a while.

I have also been contemplating a career change. It scares me to death just thinking about it but ultimately, I think it will be for the best. Not working and not having an income is not something I am used to. I love my house very much and don't want to lose it. It also depends if I'll get accepted into the program but for now I need to concentrate on a few tests and finishing out the year.

Our high school is also changing scheduling. I will not get to see my performing group everyday. At the beginning this really bothered me. I felt a lot of pressure to have my kids perform every Friday at football games and felt there was never enough time to get things done. Now there is a chance where I will only see them two times in a singe week! That sucks! But with everything going on this summer, my new mentality is to not let things bother me so much. I even had a problem grinding my teeth and didn't even know I was doing it. The doctor asked if I was stressed. Lol, I usually am but not during the summer.

A lot of things have happened since i stopped writing. It's March already. Everything that I wrote about last year has come and gone. It's 2009 and here is my year so far....

Professionally: Really good. My drill team totally rocks.
Personally: Okay. My cat died. I got another.

I guess I just don't feel like writing.
